Coast Artillery Association Branch

Coast artillery was the first artillery deployed in NSW when marines brought ashore ship’s cannon to defend the first settlement from attack by sea. Coastal forts were established in each state and territory and today many have been preserved and become museums of local history as technology made them redundant in the mid-1960s.
