Reserve Forces Day

Sunday 1 July 2018

Assemble in Hyde Park South by 1000hrs

For all serving and former reservists the national parade on Sunday 1 July 2018 at the Anzac memorial will be the last one held in Sydney.

The parades have been held annually since the first parade marched down George Street on Wednesday 1 July 1998.

The parades were established to acknowledge the 50th anniversary of the CMF being re-formed after WWII on the 1 July 1948.

For reservists to meet their training requirements they have needed the support of their family and employer and the parades over the years have always been used to thank them.

We would like as many former and serving reservists to attend and take part in the parade at the Anzac memorial in Hyde Park South from 10.00am – those taking part will be awarded a special red ribbon as a keepsake and members who took part in the 1998 parade will be awarded an attractive metal bar with 1998 to attach to the ribbon .

Senator, Major General Jim Molan AO, DSC Ret'd will be the reviewing Officer representing the Prime Minister.

At the end of the parade each association will in turn be photographed on the steps of the Memorial.

Contact your Unit Association and register with them your intention to attend. If you can no longer march, seating can be organised by the Association with which you normally march. Meanwhile click on this link for one Unit Association's contribution.
