Anzac Day 2014

Sydney March & Gunner Reunion

The 2014 March took place on a rainy day, but the crowds were not put off and were three to five deep at many places along the barriers, applauding the veterans and dignitaries alike. This was the last Anzac Day during the Governor's tenure of 13 years and she led the parade down George Street. (Photos by Vic Rae)

Despite rain Her Excellency, Professor The Honourable Marie Bashir AC CVO, Governor of NSW and also patron of our Association, leads the parade down George Street, accompanied by her three service ADCs.

This year a large contingent of Young Veterans, who served in the ADF post-1975, were led by RADM Chris Oxenbould, MAJGEN Tim Ford and AVM Greg Evans.

Banners carried by ARMY Cadets, celebrate the memory of WW1 formations and units, including artillery. They are especially significant with 2014 being the 100th anniversary of the start of WW1.
